Regional Youth LEAD Placements 

Are you 15-30 years old living in the Greater Toronto Area and looking for volunteer opportunities in your community? Our Regional Youth LEAD Placement program supports youth and young adults as they serve and engage with organizations and members of the community. This program allows youth to develop skills like leadership and interpersonal skills that will be useful in their personal and professional life.

Key Dates 

Participants are required to complete a minimum of 120 hours before March 31, 2024. Continuous support will be provided to participants, including regular check-in meetings.

Purpose

The Regional Youth LEAD Placements program is designed to empower and engage youth aged 15 to 30 through volunteer service placements. 

Our primary objectives through this program are: 

  • Promote Civic Engagement: Encourage active participation and involvement through community service 

  • Promote Inclusion: Foster an inclusive and diverse environment that welcomes all youth, including those from underrepresented groups 

  • Strengthen Youth Resilience: Provide youth with the tools and resources to navigate challenges, build resilience, and succeed 

  • Support Youth Development: Provide mentoring and training workshops, resources, and opportunities to develop personal and professional skills

Eligibility

  • Must be 15 to 30 at the time of registration

  • Currently residing in Ontario, Canada 

  • Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee status in Canada 

  • Must complete a minimum of 120 hours before March 31, 2024

How to Apply

All applicants must register through the online application: Regional Youth LEAD Placements  and acknowledge the commitment to fulfill a minimum of 120 hours.

 

Upon the submission of the application, our team will process it, and a Program Coordinator will reach out to you for an orientation session. This orientation session will help you get to know more about The Canadian Multicultural LEAD Organization, more information on the Regional Youth LEAD Placements program, and help you complete the necessary volunteer forms. 

We encourage youth who are passionate about civic engagement, eager to develop their skills, and/or want to contribute positively to the community, to register in the Regional Youth LEAD Placements program!

Activities Not Supported

  • Involves partisan political activity

  • Disrespectful of individual Human Rights in Canada

  • Fundraising

  • Financial Assistance or Aid

  • Takes place outside of Canada

Ways to Complete the Program

To complete the minimum 120 hours, it can be a combination of the following (but not limited to):

  • Volunteer orientation

  • Regular check-in meetings

  • Volunteer service at in-person LEAD events

  • Volunteer service at other organizations

  • Assisting with the quarterly newsletter 

  • Attending the LEAD in-person and/or virtual mentoring workshops

  • Watching the previous online LEAD workshops

  • Completing courses on online platforms like LinkedIn, Coursera, etc.

  • Completing the asynchronous course that we are planning to launch for the new year- dates coming soon!
